Second half of April

It has been a while since I updated this....sorry, if anyone is out there reading....

So let's see if I can nutshell it...

Mike and Kaitlynn were both gone the same weekend so I decided that would be a good weekend to start on the bathroom redo---HA HA HA!!! The painting went well but when it came time to put the new shower curtain rod up....yeah....did you know you need 2 people to do that?! UGH!! Mike finished that and hung the new light fixture when he got home that Monday...







It is still not quite completed. Still need to get some cool decor and a window treatment up (luckily for us our bathroom is high enough off ground level so that no one outside can see in! LOL). When that is done I will post the AFTER pics then.



KAITLYNN GOT HER BRACES OFF!!!!!!!!!

After 2 years and 3 months....Kaitlynn's teeth are finally done! LOL They look great minus the white spots she has near the top of her teeth. But with a little extra attention those should go away in time. She was so excited!!! Now she just has to wear her retainers as ordered! But boy was it a little tramatic for her to get those retainers made! She is like me in that she has a very easy gag reflex, so it was tough on her getting the top impression....we all thought she was going to hurl!! We laughed about it later saying that the poor newbies that were there getting their braces on were probably scared to death!! LOL

We definitely had some busy weekends in April. But the best by far was the third weekend. Not only did we take the kids to see the circus (first time in 4 years)
It was that close!!! All that kept running through my mind after seeing lots of footage of a circus elephants going crazy, was "Please miss elephant....don't trample my family!!"
Abby gets a hug from one of the performers....or should I say Abby "attacked" one of them!






but I also got a Girl's Night Away!!! Immediately after the circus ended Brandy picked up me and Kaitlynn and along with Brandy's grandmother and a cousin (who is also one of Kaitlynn's good friends) we road tripped it up to Fluvanna County just outside of Charlottesville for the semi-annual Vera Bradley BINGO Kaitlynn was a big winner bringing home 2 free VB bags!! One she won off a game of BINGO the other was a raffle prize!! The raffle one she actually traded with another of Brandy's cousins since they each liked the bag the other won....so all was good!!!

This is what we saw in the neighbors yard (Brandy's aunt's neighbor) when we went to get in the car to go to the Bingo.

Here are a few other shots I got this month...

First big head bruise. This is what happens when you are left alone with Daddy for too long!
Note the can in his left hand....he kept stealing root beer from the kitchen
Watching Jay fix our water line....WE NOW HAVE HOT WATER PRESSURE AT THE KITCHEN SINK (haven't had that since we bought the place......6 years ago!!!) AND CAN FINALLY USE THE DISHWASHER AGAIN!!! (hadn't used it in about 2 years....got tired of pulling dirty dishes out of it AFTER it was run!)


Abby heard from somewhere that if you need to relax you should lay down and "put pickles on your eyes" LOL then she realized that it was cucumbers not pickles!! LOL So Kaitlynn and I were gone one Sunday and while we were out apparantly she was stressed and needed to relax....
